Triputra Group, one of the relatively new business group in Indonesia, was founded in October 1998 by T.P. Rachmat, the former President Director of PT Astra International Tbk.

But merely after his retirement as President Commissioner of PT Astra International Tbk. in 2002, when he began intensively managed and expanded the group. At the end of 2008 the group's  total revenues stood at $2.7 billion which positioned the group as rank 10th in Globe Asia's  2009 Top 100 Indonesia's Largest Groups. Triputra Group focusing its business growth in three sectors : coal, agribusiness and manufacturing.

The group also earns strong revenues from its Honda motorcycle dealership and retail networks, which belongs to it's fourth business sector, as another significant contributor to the income. Within this sector, the group operates among other things car rental, financial services, logistics and various trading businesses.
