MEANING OF THE LOGO :

COLOR REPRESENTATION :
White color depicts the sincerity and purity in helping others. Deep blue color depicts the eternal mission of the foundation.

VISION :
To become one of the social institutions which support the empowerment of the people through education, health and social well-being.

MISSION :
- To improve the availability and accessibility of educational opportunities to needy students.
- To provide affordable healthcare services to underprivileged people.
- To support the social well-being improvement projects.

THE INCEPTION :
In August 1999, the Rachmat family founded a social foundation under the name of Yayasan Indonesia Belajar Mandiri (IJARI) focusing on providing scholarship to students.

THE DEVELOPMENT :
Along with the formulation of its Vision and Mission, in May 2007 the family decided to change the foundation's name to Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A & A Rachmat (A & A Rachmat Compassionate Service Foundation) which lead the organization to direct it's activities in scholarship, healthcare and other social matters as well.

EDUCATION:

1. Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students who come from marginal income families. Scholarships are distributed through the universities and coordinated by University Scholarship Supervisor. Since the academic year 2002 - 2003 until the academic year 2015-2016, there were 14,464 students who have received scholarships from Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A & A Rachmat.

2. Mind Mapping Training

Annually, Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A & A Rachmat held Mind Mapping training for primary school teachers in many regions. The program is expected to improve teachers’ skills to teach effectively, efficiently and interestingly so that the students can learn to think faster, thorough and with excitement.

THE HEALTHCARE ACTIVITIES:

1. Medical Clinic

The first medical clinic was established in December 2005 with an affordable charges of Rp. 5.000 - Rp. 20.000 per visit (inclusive of fee and medicines), depending on the treatment. Up to December 2015, there are more than 1.000.000 patients have been treated by 36 Medical Clinics which are located in suburb areas all over Indonesia (Sumatera , Jabodetabek, West Jawa, Central Jawa, East Jawa, Bali, NTT, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua). Another Medical Clinics will be opened soon.

2. Glasses

Free Glasses Program has been given to elementary school students and their teachers on a regular basis, and also to the children in the orphanages. Starting from 2008 to by December 2015, a total of 6,160 free glasses have been provided to those who need it.

3. Cataract Surgery

In 2015, Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A & A Rachmat for the first time held its free cataract surgery. Cataract surgery was performed in the one of the foundation’s clinics, located in Tanjung Pasir, Teluk Naga, Regency, Tangerang. 120 underprivileged patients from the area around the clinic went through initial examination and only 69 patients were eligible (based on Doctor criteria for cataract surgery). Hopefully, in the future the foundation can resume this free cataract operation considering the number of underprivileged people who are experiencing this eye problem.

THE SOCIAL WELL-BEING ACTIVITIES

Orphanage Donation and Support

The owners of Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A & A Rachmat have the aspiration for this foundation to become the patron of orphans. Therefore, the foundation has been regularly donating orphanages with 6.582 children around Indonesia, especially in Eastern Indonesia. The donation is meant to aid the daily operating costs, such as for food, education and others.
