MEANING OF THE LOGO :
Two pairs of joining feminin hands, symbolizing the philanthropic and caring deeds to accomplish the foundation's determination in helping and serving the humankind.

COLOR REPRESENTATION :
White color depicts the sincerity and purity in helping others. Deep blue color depicts the eternal mission of the foundation.

VISION :
To become one of the social institutions which support the empowerment of the people through education, health and social well-being.

MISSION :
- To improve the availability and accessibility of educational opportunities to needy students.
- To provide affordable healthcare services to underprivileged people.
- To support the social well-being improvement projects.

THE INCEPTION :
In August 1999, the Rachmat family founded a social foundation under the name of Yayasan Indonesia Belajar Mandiri (IJARI) focusing in providing scholarship to students from Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) and Universitas Sanata Dharma Yogyakarta. Up to now, there are more than 7.600 university students from all over Indonesia have enjoyed this scholarship program.

THE DEVELOPMENT :
Along with the formulation of its Vision and Mission, in May 2007 the family decided to change the foundation's name to Yayasan Pelayanan Kasih A & A Rachmat (A & A Rachmat Compassionate Service Foundation) which lead the organization to direct it's activities in healthcare and other social matters as well.

THE HEALTHCARE ACTIVITIES :
The first Balai Pengobatan (medical clinic) was inaugurated in December 2005 with an affordable charges of Rp. 5.000 - Rp. 20.000 per visit (inclusive of fee and medicines), depending on the treatment rendered. Up to September 2011, there are more than 483.000 patients have been treated by 25 Balai Pengobatan which are located in suburb areas all over Indonesia (Jabodetabek, West Jawa, Central Jawa, East Jawa, Bali, NTT, Sumatera, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua). Another 4 Balai Pengobatan will soon be opened within this year.

THE SOCIAL WELL-BEING ACTIVITIES :
Among others were :

1. Participating in the post Aceh tsunami project (new school building) in collaboration with other social foundation.
2. Donating a fresh water processing unit to Nias people.
3. Participating in the post Yogyakarta earthquake project (donation of humanitarian supplies and organizing two healthcare service points).
4. Donations to the victims of Yogyakarta Merapi Eruption, Mentawai Tsunami, and Flood in Wasior.
5. In 2011, organizing mobile eye examinations to 12 elementary schools and distributed 582 free eye glasses to needy students.
6. Donations to some orphanages, particularly in the east area of Indonesia.
7. Subsidizing various medical treatment of particular cases such as heart failure and cancer for children living in poverty.
